Meet longtime Chatham Club Member, Steve Balog! Steve currently trains with Carmine and has reached some incredible goals from weight loss to increased strength & flexibility. Fitness Director Dennis Stacknick asked Steve a few questions about his fitness journey:

DS: How many years have you been a member?
SB: 6 or 7 years.

DS: What are some accomplishments you’ve achieved at The Chatham Club?:
SB: I have recently dropped 20 pounds of body weight. My body composition has improved with more than 20 pounds of fat loss while added lean weight. I have also increased my strength and flexibility and just feel better overall. I’ve recovered and feel strong again from a total knee replacement in 2018. I’ve also been able to eliminate all medications he had to take for a-fib and heartburn.

DS: What do you like about the Club?:
SB: The variety of strength equipment and abundance of cardio equipment. I also enjoy the spin classes.

DS: What do you like about training with Carmine?:
SB: Carmine acts as my conscience. He keeps me accountable and motivated. He has as great knowledge of exercise for someone my age and with my limitations.

DS: What are your favorite exercises:
SB: Spinning/Biking, core exercises/

DS: How about your least favorite exercise?:
SB: Cobra stretch from yoga which I recently started doing to help with my flexibility.

DS: How do you spend your time outside of the Club?:
SB: Bike rides, mowing the lawn and working on my home as well as spending time at my shore house.

DS: Any 2022 goals?:
SB: Lose another 10 pounds of fat while maintaining lean mass!
