MEMBER OF THE MONTH – ANNE DAVENPORT

When Anne originally joined the gym, her primary focus on fitness was running and doing triathlons.  The club informed her of the benefits of strength training and full-body strength.  She is now a daily user of the club, participating in many different classes to keep her fitness level well.

How many years have you been a member of The Chatham Club?
I have been a member for over 21 years.  I joined in May of 2001.

What do you like most about the club?
I love the trainers, class instructors, and all the staff.  The class variety is enormous for me, and the great atmosphere of the club makes it enjoyable to show up each day.

What do you like most about the classes?
I love all the class options and the versatility of all the instructors.  All the instructors teach a class with the member’s health in mind.  They are mindful of exercises that match our life movements.  They bring all their unique styles and energy to the classes, and it’s never dull.

What are your favorite exercises?
I really can’t name just one.  I love all the movements that keep my entire body strong.

What are your least favorite exercises?
I am definitely not of fan of the gliders.  They give me a great workout but still not a fan.

What are some of your activities outside of the club?
I enjoy horseback riding, snowboarding, and hiking in Vermont.

What are some upcoming goals you have in mind?
I have started some training to get myself back into doing Triathlons again.  I miss doing those; they’re on my radar for the near future.
