Get to know Michael!

Michael Reynolds, B.S., NCSF, WSBB earned his Associates Degree in Educational Psychology at County College of Morris.  He graduated from Kean University with a Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science.  Michael is a certified personal trainer through NCSF and Westside Barbell.  He is following his dream of helping people accomplish their goals and live a healthy lifestyle.  Michael specializes in sports performance training as well as general strength training.  Outside of the Club, Michael enjoying time with his family and spending time outdoors.

Q: How long have you been a trainer at TCC?
A: I have been training at The Chatham Club for a little over 2 years now. However, I’ve been working at The Chatham Club for over 7 years. Started at the front desk when I was a senior in high school.

Q: Where did your passion for fitness come from?
A: My passion for fitness came from playing football in high school. Walking into the weight room for the first time as a freshman I immediately loved the atmosphere. Working out and staying fit stuck with me from then on.

Q: How would you describe your style of personal training?
A: I would describe my style of personal training as muscular hypertrophy/endurance. Constantly keeping the heartrate elevated with paired exercises and finding a good set to rep ratio.

Q: What is the best killer exercise for shoulders?
A: My personal favorite for a killer shoulder exercise would be 3×8 of lateral and anterior shoulder raises.

Q: What is your favorite post (or pre!) workout snack/meal?
A: My go to pre workout snack/meal would be 2 hard boiled eggs, a yogurt, and an apple.

Q: What is your guilty pleasure food?
A: Pizza, pretzels, Chex mix. Just to name a few.

Q: Favorite brand of workout gear/clothing?
A: My go to brand for sneakers would either be Nikes or Under Armour. I usually pick the running style type sneakers.

Q: Favorite music to listen to when exercising?
A: Rock music or hip hop.

Q: What are your goals (if any..not necessary) for 2021?
A: My goals for 2021 are to expand my knowledge in the exercise/fitness world and to constantly hold myself accountable for all programs I create for myself.

Q: What is your favorite thing about The Chatham Club?
A: My favorite thing about The Chatham Club would have to be the atmosphere here. You are constantly surrounded by friendly members and enthusiastic staff members that really make exercising a great and pleasant experience.
