Darren joined the Club in 1994 as a Personal Trainer. He assumed the role of General Manager in June, 2017. Darren received his B.S. in Corporate Fitness from Trenton State College, and his Master in Recreation, Sport and Fitness Management from Northeastern University. Darren has completed 40 marathons and more than 25 ultramarathons, including fifteen 100-mile races. His many accomplishments include placing 1st in the men’s division of the Badwater – 135 miles through Death Valley (32 hours, 38 minutes), the Sri Chimnoy 6-Day Race – 420 miles, and his solo A Run from the Heart – 208 miles from Cape May to High Point, NJ.
Chris spent 15 years in customer service industries before coming to work part-time at The Chatham Club in 1986. Five years in membership administration led to full-time from 1992 through June, 2017 as General Manager. Upon her retirement, Chris has stepped away from the position of General Manager, and has taken on her new role as Director of Finance.
Janet joined The Chatham Club as a member in 1997 and began working part-time at the Front Desk two years later. In 2000, she accepted a full-time Sales Director position at the Club. She was named the Facility Manager in 2005. Janet is responsible for ordering and maintaining Club supplies, including computer hardware and software, and she acts as liaison with professional contractors. She creates the promotional signage within the Club, as well as advertising materials for external marketing. Janet also oversees production of our monthly newsletter, “Happenings.” If you’ve ever received an email notifying you of an update within The Chatham Club, it most likely came from Janet’s desk.
Kirkland DeLaney graduated from Lafayette College with a B.A. in Economics. She began her career as an NBC Page in New York City, and she continued to work part-time while raising three children. In 1994, Kirk began volunteering in The Chatham Club nursery and later became a Club member. Five years ago, after earning her certification as a Spinning Instructor, she began teaching at the Club. She has also worked as a bookkeeper for Willow St. clothing store in Summit, and more recently as a realtor with J. Graham Realty. Kirk lives in Chatham with her husband Tim.
Jennifer O’Connor, ACE, NSCA
Jennifer has been with The Chatham Club since 1994. She earned her certification as a Personal Trainer from NSCA. She is also certified as a Spinning, Kinesis and Power Plate instructor. Jen attended her first Yoga Teacher training with Baron Baptiste in 1997. She has since attended teacher-training seminars held by the Yoga Journal, Omega Institute and Kripalu Institute. She is certified through the American Yoga Academy. In 2007, Jen became a certified Zumba instructor, She teaches Body Sculpting, Spinning, Yoga and Zumba classes. Jennifer loves to share the joy of movement with our members through all of her classes and personal training.
Dennis Stacknick, B.S., NSCA
Dennis is a graduate of East Stroudsburg University with a B.S. in Movement Studies and Exercise Science. He earned his Personal Trainer certification from NSCA. He is also a certified Kinesis, Power Plate and Spinning instructor. Dennis developed his own Intensity Training class for the Club, incorporating high-intensity, plyometric-interval exercises. While at ESU, Dennis was captain of the Men’s Cross Country and the Indoor/Outdoor Track teams. Since joining The Chatham Club staff in 2006, he has focused on sports-specific training and strength-conditioning programs.
Doug Sellmann, M.Ed., M.S.S., NSCA
Doug received his B.A. in Exercise Science from Kean University, and his Master of Education in Sports Management is from East Stroudsburg University. He received a Master of Sports Science from the United States Sports Academy. Doug is a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through NSCA. Doug has held various positions at The Chatham Club since 1998. He has also worked at several athlete-training centers around New Jersey. Most recently, Doug was Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Hunterdon Central Regional High School in Flemington, NJ.
Yvette began volunteering in The Chatham Club nursery a year after arriving in the U.S. from Australia in 2003. Five years later she took over the supervision of the Club’s two nurseries, one downstairs (for 8-week to 3-year-olds) and the other upstairs (for 3-year to 10-year-olds). Now a naturalized U.S. citizen, Yvette oversees 20 nursery personnel, many of them volunteers who once attended the nursery and whom she has happily watched grow up.
Geoff Mitchell runs Mitchellsquash and is the head squash profession at the Chatham Club. Geoff was ranked #1 in the US over 45 in 2010/2011. He finished 2nd. in the world over 30’s, has reached the US national semifinals in his age group several times and has been ranked as high as #1 in his age group in the US. As a former squash professional himself, with national and world rankings he has developed hundreds of juniors to play intercollegiate squash as well as lead successful juniors to US National titles and rankings. His students have competed on US National teams for the world juniors as well as the Pan American Games.
