The Original, Authentic Pilates Method Makes a Difference.  All Pilates is not the same. The exercises taught at The Chatham Club were handed down from Joseph H. Pilates to his protégé, Romana Kryzanowska. Pilates in its authentic form is very specific and requires close supervision to be performed properly. It is the proven way to achieve the benefits Joseph H. Pilates envisioned.

For more than 80 years, Pilates has been a safe and effective form of exercise for people of all ages and abilities. Developed in the 1920s by the legendary physical trainer and founder of the Pilates Studio, Joseph H. Pilates, the originial, Authentic Pilates Method is an exercise system focused on improving flexibility and strength for the entire body without adding bulk. It is a series of controlled movements that engage mind and body, performed on five specifically designed exercise apparatus and supervised by trained instructors.
 
Joseph H. Pilates designed more than 500 specific exercises to uniformly develop the body. When taught by a qualified instructor, the genuine Pilates Method works wonders. At The Chatham Club we create a custom Pilates workout tailored to the body and capabilities of each student. Our professional instruction ensures that you will look and feel better inside and out.

We Have Experience and Know How.  Barbara Place, Studio Director has been trained and tested by Romana Kryzanowska, completing a regimen that included hundreds of hours of observation, rigorous training and detailed performance evaluations on the mat and on all specialized apparatus.  You are getting excellence and experience.
 
Pilates Works for Everyone.  The extraordinary range of Pilates exercise makes it suitable for all body types and skill levels ... from rehabilitating accident victims to athletes seeking improved performance to new moms who again want to fit in their "skinny jeans." Our studio is fully equipped with Gratz equipment.  We train one-on-one or in a group setting.
