Class Descriptions

We have more than 100 conditioning and cardiovascular classes offered weekly. Two 1600 square foot studios with classes featuring Spinning, Core Conditioning, Power Sculpting, Total Body Conditioning, Box Fit & more! We also specialize in many types of yoga classes including Iyengar, Kripalu, Ashtanga and Raja. All of our instructors are qualified and certified in their respective disciplines. Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced workouts.

AEROBICS CLASS DESCRIPTIONS  

Abs Class:  A 15 minute concentrated workout specifically designed to strengthen & tome the abdominal and lower back muscles. All Levels. 

Aerobic Intervals:  A great approach to interval training. A mix of easy to follow aerobics & strength equipment. All Levels

A Perfect Body:   For the ladies!  An effective program to help shape your legs, butt, abs and thighs.  Concentrated movements using the ballet bar, mat and props.  Be prepared to focus your mind and shape your body.  Int/Adv Levels.

Ballet Bar Body Sculpt:  Working at the barre gives you a sense of center and blance which allow the isolation of individual muscle groups. These unique core based exercises that combine barre work and light weights with a continual fat-burning motion.  Central to this workout are resistance and toning exercise for the butt, thighs, torso and arms,  Class ends with Pilates based abdominal work.

Bootcamp:  A tough workout plain & simple. Push ups, sprints, calisthenics, & conditionting drills, No coordination required.  Int/Adv Levels.  

Boxing Conditioning:  Image you are getting ready for the fight of your life!  An exciting & intense workout that will highlight the fundamentals of boxing technique and emphasize the conditioning aspects of a boxer.  Increase your stamina, strength, agility, speed and timing.  All levels.

Box Fit:  Get in shape & have fun while you learn the basics of punching, foot work and working out with bags.  Max. 9 people in class, sign up at the front desk the day before the class

Cardio Core:  A 1 hour interval training class that alternates between basic cardio exercise and core based sculpting moves,  The workout is designed to burn fat and sculpt your body. Int/Adv level.

Cardio Workout:  Remember how fun gym class used to be?  A fast paced 45 minute workout that focuses on basic movements to burn maximum calories.  No coordinaiton required, can be modified for All Levels.

Core Synergy:  a 45 minute sculpting class that creates a strong, athletic and flexible body while focusing on your core.  Build long, lean muscles through a balance of strength and stretching exercises to achieve maximum results.  Int/Adv level.

Gentle Yoga:  This class will focus on postures, breath work, visualization & meditation.  Please inform your instructor if this is your first yoga class. All levels.

Intensity Training:  This class will push your physical and cardiovascular conditioning to an all new level.  The class will incorporate body weight strength training and plyometric style movements, all at a vigorous pace.  Adv. level.

Iyengar Yoga:  Iyengar Yoga develops strength, stamina, flexibility and balance uniting body and mind through great attention to detail utilizing props to attain focused alignment in the poses with much verbal instruction and physical adjustment.  You don't have to sweat in order to work hard, feel great and get strong in body and mind.  All levels.

Kinesis:  Kinesis is a training modality designed to focus on the elements of balance, flexibility and stability.  This type of functional training allows you to utilize those three elements to optimize your physical strength and endurance.  Please see Kinesis class schedule for the class formats.

MELT Method:  The MELT Method is a self treatment techniques that helps prevent pain, heal injury and erase the negative effects of aging. This unique technique reduces repetive muscle stress, improves posture and helps to elimanate neck, lower back and shoulder pain.

Muscle Shock:  Definition is the name of this game and Muscle Shock will certainly deliver.  This class will incorporate tempo routines along with strong cardiovascular conditioning to help etch each curve and detail.  Expect a challenge and enjoy the experience of re-defining your phyique and motivaiton.  Int/Adv level

Pilates Mat:  A 50 min. class. Goals are strengthening the powerhouse, increased flexibility, and creating long, lean muscles. Beg/Int some pilates experience helpful but not necessary.

Power Plate:  Power Plate (Whole Body Vibration Training) is a technique that uses vibration to offer a host of benefits including improved blood circulation, increased muscle strength and flexibility, improved range of motion, increased bone density, decreased cellulite, reduced pain and soreness and faster recovery.

Power Sculpt:  A sculpting class that will keep you moving. A challenging workout that will burn calories and chisel your muscles. Int/Adv levels.  

Spinning:  A biking class that will increase your stamina & conditioning. Sign up for class at the front desk up to 1 day in advance. Student must initial the sign in sheet when arriving at the club to take class. Failure to cancel a reservation will result in loss of reservation privileges. First time students must arrive at least 10 minutes early. Late arrival to class may result in loss of spot. Water & a towel are a must. Use of a heart monitor is highly recommended. Guest of members are not allowed to sign up for class, but are welcome if a bike is available. All Levels.  

Serious Strength Training:  For the student that wants to strengthen and reshape their body. Utilizes barbells and heavy weights. You will overload your muscles to create challenge and change. Prior weight training experience required. A maximum of 19 students  in class. Advanced Level.  

Treadmill Class:  A 30 minute cardio class utilizing intervals of speed, incline and direction.  Kick up your treadmill workout!  All levels.

Vinyasa Yoga:  Posture flow yoga, linking movement with breathwork.  Previous yoga experience preferred. 

Yoga All Levels:   A unique blend of slow stretched, core strengthening, alignment, balance with special emphasis on breathing and focus. Please inform your instructor if this is you first class. All Levels.  

Yoga Therapy:  Practices on a regular basis, yoga therapy will keep the body in sound health.  Yoga Asanas (postures) have the capacity to prevent & cure many types of ailments.

Zumba:  An international workout party!  Freestyle dance moves combined with hip and ab work make the time fly.  Come work your body and free your mind.  No prior dance experience required, but sneakers are!

Jennifer is a recognized fitness expert with more than 20 years industry experience. Her certifications include; NSCA and ACE.  Jennifer taylors the classes and programs to all levels and abilities. Motivating, inspiring and educating her students is rewarding and challenging to Jennifer. Her continued education in the fitness industry brings new and exciting programs to The Chatham Club.
